So ladies and gents...what do you think my blog is about today?!! Any guesses?.....did you say teeth?.....guess what....YOU RIGHTTTTTT!!!! Hello, do I EVER post about anything else? (Besides the fact that FOOTLOOSE will be touching our lives in two magnificant days!! YES 2! Numero Dose!! AHHHH I CAN NOT WAIT!!
ANYWAYS...lets get back to the only thing that takes over my life, the
ony thing I focus all my attention on, SCHOOL!!!
So today in clinic we learned how to Dental chart. So lucky me, I got to work on my dear friend Laken. So first and foremost, I would just like to say this girl has a twinner mouth just like myself!! See, when you look in someones mouth on a day to day basis, (well almost day to day) you really get to see them on a different level! haha That sounded so awkward, but just go with it!! As I was exploring through her mouth with my mirror and explorer, of course, I found out that Laken is missing both her 1st premolars on her maxillae like me!! That is about the only "twin" thing we have. She has her 1st premolars on her mandible gone as well, because according to her, "She has huge horse teeth, so the Dentist had to pull those horse teeth so all her teeth could fit into her mouth!"
That was possibly the most exciting thing in that mouth! Lame I know! Ü
After charting, I was able to practice my anterior scaling on Mrs. Hintze! She is such a trooper, all I do is poke at her and Im STILL allowed to be her friend. Geez Louise, how did I get so lucky with amazing pod buds! I had a couple AHA MOMENTS as well today!!
AHA MOMENT #1: Tip ALWAYS stays on the tooth, and you HAVE to adapt on anteriors super duper quick, or blood comes!
AHA MOMENT #2: You use an exploratory stroke with your instrument, AS SOON as you "get stuck" apply Lateral Pressure to the tooth, and pull towards the tooth AND the tip. CAUTION: DO NOT PULL BACK!!! Dang us first years! Ü
Overall, clinic was not bad!! I didn't hate it, and I didn't love it, so that is still ok! We are improving on the "hate!"
